For the first time in a generation, Boston experienced a change in government. Marty Walsh was Boston’s mayor from January 6, 2014 – March 22, 2021. Under Mayor Marty Walsh’s leadership, Boston was, and continues to be a thriving, resilient, and compassionate city. Chameleon DG is proud to have helped with branding and creative initiatives for former Mayor Martin J. Walsh during his time, as he moved our city forward creating a “Hub of Opportunity” for all of it’s citizens. We developed a diverse creative platform for the mayor as he embarked on his initial campaign, and again when he ran for re-election.

POLITICAL CAMPAIGN TOOLS
The Mayor Walsh campaign initially asked Chameleon DG to create a logo that was reminiscent of a traditional and historical campaign logo given the role Boston played in our nations history. We revitalized the original logo to have more of a contemporary feel when former Mayor Marty Walsh ran for re-election. The updated approach to the campaign logo was meant to symbolize the city’s continued growth and utilization of technology as it moves forward into the future.
CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
Tasked with developing the MJW Charitable Foundation identity, we focused on a couple of former Mayor Walsh’s initiatives to help form the direction of the logo. A rounded contemporary typeface, combined with a community driven icon were used to symbolize unity and inclusion, ensuring the foundation stood apart from his other campaign logo identities. Hundreds of donors contributed to the MJW Charitable Foundation during its first year, ranging from individuals and elected officials to companies and universities, helping to support the mayor’s civic passions and important causes.
